Jean Pierre Dubord
Born in 1949, in Rouen, France.
After spending years in the French countryside, Jean-Pierre returned to his native city to portray the surroundings of his youth. While Rouen is his favorite subject for his paintings he often depicts Paris, the Norman countryside, the beaches of Deauville and Houlgate, the cliffs of Caux and Etretat and scenes along the Seine.
In 1970, he had his first exhibition of approximately 30 paintings in Rouen, a show that was highly praised by art critics. In addition to an annual show in Rouen, he has exhibited in Birdhouse, La Hare, La Rochelle, Osaka. Quebec and in major Salons of Paris.
Dubord has his own original approach to paintings. One critic remarked that Dubord is guided solely by his heat and emotions. Viewers are mesmerized by his palette of rich colors, rhythms of nature and relate to his intense joy of life. The artist's mastery of light technique on canvas combined with a delicate beauty of his painting can be traced to the impressionist tradition. Dubord is regarded throughout the world as one of the most popular and sought after 20th century contemporary impressionists.
His works are exhibited in numerous galleries throughout France, Kyoto, Tokyo, Osaka, Kamakura and in the USA . Dubord is the recipient of significant prizes and awards over twenty five years.
All Dubord original paintings have been sold out of the Jo-Gi Collection. Dubord's Fine Lithographs (Edition of the Artist) are still available from the Jo-Gi Gallery, in Naples, FL
