Patrick Laroche
Born in 1959 - France Laroche spent three years at d'ecole de sculpture a Bruxelles; spent four years in an atelier in the formation and perfecting of his skills as sculptor-practicien; and in 1988 acquisition of his own atelier de sculpteur-practicien in Bruxelles. The gifted sculptor, LAROCHE has been noted for his excellence in bronze works by the Parlement European Bruxelles.
Laroche - Successor of the DE JONCKHEERE WORKSHOPS father and son created in 1880 in Brussels - Student of Roger DE JONCKHEERE first prize Rome To quote Partick Laroche: "A Special Craft - I fully assume the continuation of the "De Jonckheere" workshops, first prize in Rome, existing since 1880 and I still continue to execute the enlargements, reductions, replica and restorations of all types of sculptures. The technique used by the practitioner has traveled through the ages with very few changes in tools and with betterment in materials. This technique was used by such famous artists as Rodin and Carpeaux. This workshop undertook to execute for many public buildings, sculptures in marble and stone as well as enlargements. As a sculptor practitioner, I continue to perpetuate the ancient pantograph technique by executing my enlargements in clay and thereby continuing the know-how of the past." Laroche has been awarded the title "meilleur ouvrier de France" (Best Worker of France-National Museum Supplier) which he obtained by executing a bust in carrare marble. Further, Laroche's talent and skill are recognized by the best as he has performed restorations on prestigious public buildings, monuments and as well as works in the Louve. Since 1991, Laroche's works have been in Salons and Expositions in France, Belgique, Bruxelles, The Netherlands, Switzerland, and USA. His sculptures range in scope and subject. His designed and created a "torch" which placed as runner up for the 1998 Barcelona Olympics. Laroche completed a series entitled "Hommage to Degas" of bronze works portraying the ballerina in her various moods and stances such as Faith, Passion, Hope, Thinker, Wonder, Abandonment, Meditation, Mischievous. His famous bronze Ballerinas and Fawns are versatile in design! They can be showcased on a pedestal or displayed on an elegant dining table holding a glass of wine! This is a must for the discerning collector!
In 2002 Laroche's works became a part of the Jo-Gi Collection in Chicago and now are exclusively shown in at Jo-Gi gallery in Naples FL.
